Job summary

State of Georgia, Department of Human Services, Division of Family & Children Services in Ocilla, GA, seeks a Child Welfare Services Technician 1. Under supervision, you will perform paraprofessional social services for clients and families, including intakes and planning.

You will liaise with social service agencies, conduct screenings, and help clients access legal, medical and financial resources while maintaining organized records and data entry.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and 1 year of experience in a social services position.
  • Preferred: experience in a child welfare related field.

Responsibilities

  • Completes intakes based on interviews with client, family or reporter.
  • Maintains contact with other social service agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
  • Conducts screenings and/or searches for case history, relatives, etc.
  • Assists clients in locating and utilizing community resources such as legal, medical, financial assistance.
  • Organizes records, uploads data & documents into records, pulls reports, compiles data.
