  • Accesses and records client and community resource information.
  • Assists in collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing necessary reports according to rules and regulations, state and federal laws.
  • Assists in identifying placement resources for children within the foster care system.
  • Compiles records and prepares reports; performs follow-up to determine the status of client's case.
  • Conducts home-visit evaluations for information gathering to be used in assessments.
  • Coordinates and monitors children in out-of-home placements and in-home interventions.
  • Learns to perform initial investigations of protective services referrals in determining the appropriateness of protective services intervention.
  • Learns to work in collaboration with legal system to ensure safety and achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintains required documentation and completes reports.
  • Note: Applicants must pass the standard agency testing protocol for the position in which they are hired in order to maintain the position.

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Welfare Services Case Manager 1. This position reports to the Child Welfare Services Case Manager Supervisor and is located at the DFCS office in Carrollton, Carroll County.
