Pay Grade: N

Manages the administration of policies and programs designed to protect children and families. Ensures mandated services with a focus on child safety and service provision. Directs subordinate managers and staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure outcome measures are achieved.
  • Ensures agency compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Builds a cooperative, team-oriented environment within units and with other agencies.
  • Develops and maintains positive community relationships and with the county DFCS Board.
  • Develops and administers budgets.
  • Facilitates communication within the agency on case and policy levels.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, disciplines, and discharges social services employees.
  • Leads and manages a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability, and social services.
  • Manages human resources and administrative activities for social services staff.
  • Plans, administers, and oversees social services programs.
  • Reviews programs for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulations.

Core Competencies:

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple organizational levels and teams.
  • Excellent communication skills—oral, written, presentation, interpersonal.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and two (2) years managing subordinate supervisors in a human services program.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of experience at the CWS Administrator level or equivalent.
