Responsibilities include:

  1. Assess needs of minors in care due to abuse or neglect, aiming for permanency
  2. Conduct safety assessments and develop service plans
  3. Coordinate service delivery and referrals
  4. Monitor progress and evaluate reports
  5. Maintain case documentation
  6. Prepare reports, testify in court, and participate in permanency planning
  7. Conduct diligent searches and coordinate with professionals
  8. Engage in community outreach and provide specialized services
  9. Support stable placements and permanency goals
  10. Assist families with accessing services and subsidies
  11. Coordinate with team members, providers, and legal entities
  12. Facilitate placements, transportation, and other logistical needs
  13. Provide on-call support as scheduled
  14. For Adoptions: assess families, complete assessments, and manage subsidy paperwork

Qualifications:

For DCM Trainee Candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (required); in Human Services preferred
  • Master’s in Social Work (preferred)
  • Florida Driver’s License and reliable vehicle within 30 days of hire

Experience:

  • Complete prescribed training and supervised field practice
  • Two years working with at-risk children and families (preferred)

For Certified DCM Candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required); Master’s in Social Work (preferred)
  • Florida Child Welfare Case Manager certification (required)
  • Two years of relevant experience (required)

Knowledge of: child development, community resources, dependency, permanency

Skills: planning, organization, communication, collaboration, facilitation, coaching

Ability to: interact effectively with diverse populations, set boundaries, assess interventions, work autonomously, handle stress, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate core values

Travel:

Yes, statewide
