Job summary

Children and Families First Delaware Inc. in Delaware, OH, is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Case Worker to assess needs, develop care plans, conduct home visits, and coordinate services to promote child safety and family stability.

The role requires strong communication, crisis intervention skills, and the ability to manage caseloads while working both independently and with a team. Travel within the county and statewide on occasion; on-call every 10-12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in social work or related field with relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in child welfare preferred.
• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in case management software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong crisis intervention and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends on-call.
• Commitment to cultural competency and diversity.
• Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate needs to develop care plans.
• Conduct home visits to ensure safety.
• Collaborate with social services and healthcare providers to coordinate resources.
• Maintain detailed case files and documentation.
• Facilitate family meetings and case conferences.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies.
• Advocate for rights and needs within legal and social service systems.
• Develop strategies to enhance family stability.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans.
• Educate families on available resources.
• Prepare reports and summaries for court proceedings.
• Attend trainings to stay informed about best practices.
• Travel primarily within assigned county; some statewide travel.
• On-call every 10-12 weeks rotating.
