Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Aurora, IL seeks an Intact Services Specialist to provide short-term, intensive child welfare casework to intact families in high-risk categories. You will assess safety and risk to help children remain at home, ensuring stable family environments.

Under general supervision, you’ll coordinate services, document cases, and work with diverse teams to improve child safety. Hybrid work schedule and competitive benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Preferred master’s degree in social work or related human service field with direct casework experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work and one year of related professional casework/case management experience or related degree and two years of experience.
• Degree programs should be accredited and approved by the relevant council; experience should relate to family preservation, reunification, adoption, youth development, counseling, and advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Intact Services Specialist.
• Provides follow up to parents and families to ensure linkages with service providers.
• Provides oversight to families seeking prevention services and referrals to community resources.
• Prepares and maintains case documentation and reports.
• Collaborates with other units to facilitate services for non-child abuse/neglect matters and prevention services.
