Job summary

Thompson in Memphis, TN is seeking a Case Manager to provide dependency case management for families with verified abuse history, coordinating services and linking youth and caregivers to resources to promote a stable, safe home for youth in out-of-home care.

The role involves crisis management, court reporting, and occasional court testimony; daily work with high-need teens in the community, with on-call coverage evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience equivalent to one (1) year of full-time professional work providing child welfare services.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must pass a drug screen and all required background checks including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Provide dependency case management services to families with verified abuse history and open dependency case.
• Engage kin and fictive kin adults to increase protective capacities and secure stable homes.

What will you do as a Case Manager?

• As a Case Manager, you will provide dependency case management services to families whom have verified abuse history and an open dependency case. This consists of providing services/linkage/coordination care of high need youth in out of home care and engaging kin and fictive kin adults to increase protective capacities and ultimately provide a stable safe home for the youth served.
• A typical day as a Case Manager will include managing crisis, linking youth/caregivers to service providers, writing court reports, testifying in court, and completing face to face engagement with youth/family in the community. As a Case Manager, a large amount of time is spent face to face with high need teenagers, work hours vary based on client need, and includes an on-call schedule for after hour coverage (nights/weekends).

Starting Pay Ranges

$19.50 - $23.50 based on education and experience level

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience equivalent to one (1) year of full-time professional work providing child welfare services including, but not limited to, one or a combination of the following: social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management; volunteer services coordination for a children's service program; and/or juvenile classification coordination.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must pass a drug screen and all required background checks including but not limited to fingerprinting
