Qualifications

• Level I requires six months of clerical work or related care experience.
• Level II requires one year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services setting.
• Level III requires one year clerical experience plus two more years in a child welfare environment; or an equivalent education/experience.
• All levels require valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Provides lower-level case management assistance and support for Child Welfare Specialists (CWS), clients, client families, and other interested parties.
• Performs administrative support tasks such as inputting case documentation, compiling social and economic data, and scheduling meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Schedules doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and other appointments; arranges or provides transportation for children and clients.
• Interviews clients and their families and reports findings to assigned CWS.
• Advises clients of available child welfare services and resources; refers to community resources for assistance.

Education

Six months of general office clerical work or caring for children in a licensed daycare or public contact work

One year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment

One year of clerical experience in a governmental or non-profit social services provider environment plus two years in a child welfare setting
