Job Summary:

Join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health as a Child Therapist, where you’ll provide specialized mental health services to children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.
As a Child Therapist, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help children build resilience, improve coping skills, and foster emotional well-being. This role requires strong collaboration with families, schools, and other support systems to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual, group, and family therapy for children and adolescents in various settings.
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
Utilize evidence-based interventions, such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care.
Collaborate with families, schools, and community resources to create a supportive network for each child.
Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings to discuss client progress and treatment recommendations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
Assist in crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
Provide education and support to families on mental health topics, parenting strategies, and behavioral management techniques.
Stay updated on the latest child therapy best practices through continuing education and training.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Missouri.
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a clinical setting preferred.
Knowledge of child development, trauma-informed care, and behavioral interventions.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong ability to engage and connect with children and their families.
Knowledge of diagnostic criteria related to child mental health concerns.
Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate interventions.
Experience with collaborating with schools, social services, and healthcare professionals.
Proficiency in case management, documentation, and treatment planning.
