Job summary

Voyage Counseling LLC in Brownsburg, IN seeks a Child & Play Therapist to serve children ages 3–12 with caregiver involvement. You’ll use play therapy and developmentally appropriate methods to build skills and reduce anxiety in a warm, accepting setting.

We welcome associates and licensed clinicians; RPT credentials or progress toward earning it are preferred. Schedule is collaborative with after-school options; strong communication and cultural responsiveness are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or related field.
• Active Indiana mental health license appropriate to the role; supervise if associate.
• Current Registered Play Therapist (RPT) or actively pursuing; RPT holders preferred.
• Desire to maintain a caseload exclusively serving children ages 12 and under.
• Experience with young children and understanding of play as therapy.
• Ability to involve caregivers while maintaining boundaries and child-focused care.
• Commitment to affirming, culturally responsive care.
• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual therapy to children ages 3–12 using play therapy and developmentally appropriate interventions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Support children facing anxiety, grief, trauma, emotional regulation, and school or family challenges.
• Build trusting therapeutic relationships respecting each child’s identity and needs.
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers through consultation and family sessions when appropriate.
• Help caregivers understand needs and practice supportive strategies between sessions.
• Coordinate with schools and healthcare providers when appropriate.
• Maintain timely clinical records and progress notes.
• Assess safety concerns and follow confidentiality and reporting requirements.
• Participate in team consultation, weekly staffing, and supervision as applicable.
