Brandon Valley School District 49-2 is hiring a Lunchroom Worker to support daily meal service in our school cafeteria. You will help set up seating and food service areas, assist students with condiments, and keep the eating spaces clean during lunch.
This position requires physical effort: lifting up to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in hot environments. No formal education is required, and you will work under supervision with the lead cook or food service manager.

Assists in the daily operation of the kitchen by setting up tables, garbage cans etc. Helps younger students with condiments over the lunch hour. Cleans the eating area daily.
This position works under immediate or general supervision depending upon the level of experience. The incumbent is responsible for one or more of the following categories on a daily basis: set up condiment tables, set out tables, fill milk coolers, and ensure eating areas are clean after lunch.
The incumbent is challenged to assist in the lunchroom setup daily. Also to help the students with selections or needs as they arise.
All aspects of food service and setup performed by the incumbent, including clean up are directed and supervised by the lead cook or food service manager. Cleaning assignments are similarly planned for the incumbent by superiors. The incumbent may decide work sequences with which to best accomplish the directives.
Incumbent works on wet, greasy floors which may be slippery; in hot, humid, noisy kitchens with boiling hot foods and liquids which may require heavy lifting; with hot grills and ovens; and with potentially harmful chemicals such as oven cleaners or de-limers.
Performance can be measured by the timeliness and quality of the assigned work duties. Performance is also measured by direct observation of work habits and the cleanliness of area assigned.
