Brookings School District is seeking a full-time Child Nutrition – General Worker to support school meal service. Duties include preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining a clean and organized serving area, and assisting with setup and cleanup.

• Understands and practices basic sanitation and cleaning procedures and maintains the work area at a high degree of cleanliness.
• Can organize time and workload to be ready to serve meals at appropriate time. Looks ahead on menus to determine what need to be done.

7 hours or 7.5 hours per day, following the school calendar

$17.90/hour

TITLE: KITCHEN GENERAL HELP

REPORTS TO:Cashier and Food Service Director

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To help prepare and serve the students nutritious meals in an atmosphere of courtesy, efficiency and cleanliness.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with serving of food in quick and pleasant manner.
• Assist with set up and clean up of serving area.
• Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

The Board shall offer a letter of agreement with wages and benefits to be determined by the board as delineated in the Classified Employee Handbook.

EVALUATION PROCEDURE:

Position will be evaluated annually by the Food Service Director.
