Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District in Queen Creek, AZ is seeking a part-time Child Nutrition Assistant for Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary.

Responsibilities include assisting in food prep, serving, cashiering, and clean-up while following HACCP and safety guidelines; must stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Work hours are 25 per week, Monday through Friday 8:00am–1:00pm.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler's Certificate
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience handling money desired
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
• Knowledge of HACCP and workplace safety requirements
• Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work with figures and to make arithmetic calculations
• Ability to operate a computerized cash register
• Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and students on the Child Nutrition program
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community
• Execute essential skills (cashier, paperwork, food prep, cleaning) within a reasonable time span
• Accurately inventory and report production of food quantities
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Operate standard kitchen equipment (convection ovens, microwave, steam table, hot holding carts)
• Assist with quantity food preparation
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning to meet sanitary standards
• Assist with stocking and replenishing supplies
• Set up and breakdown serving lines
• Be willing to cover CN Assistant Senior in absence
• Perform duties safely and as directed
• Perform other duties to support district priorities

COMPENSATION:

Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

REPORTS TO:

Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager

HOURS:

25 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm

CLASSIFICATION:

Hourly, Non-exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community
• Execute all essential skills (i.e., cashiering, completing paperwork, preparing food, cleaning, etc.) within a reasonable time span
• Accurately inventory and report production of food quantities, excess, etc.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Operatestandard kitchen equipment, including but not limited to convection ovens, microwave oven, steam table, and hot holding carts
• Assist with quantity food preparation
• Assist with the daily cleaning of the kitchen and all kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met
• Assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies
• Set up and break down serving lines
• Be willing to take over for the CN Assistant Senior in her/his absence.
• Performall duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
