CHRISTUS Health in San Antonio, TX seeks a Child Life professional to provide developmentally appropriate experiences for pediatric patients and families, elevating quality of life during healthcare visits.

You will oversee the Child Life Zone operations, facilitate play, and manage CCTV programming, while collaborating with the care team to support children’s growth and family engagement.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Bilingual - English/Spanish is preferred.
• Previous experience working with children is required.
• Experience with therapeutic use of play materials/activities is required.
• 1-3 years of work experience with children is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Develops and implements programming that promotes optimal development for children in the healthcare setting and supports family members.
• Promotes, advertises, and speaks to Child Life Zone services to patients, families, and staff.
• Implements planned and purposeful play activities/interventions tailored to the child’s age and needs during health care visits.
• Documents interactions with patients and families per department policy.
• Plans for, orders, and collects needed materials and equipment within budget, exploring cost-saving tools.
• Serves as a resource to patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding services and community resources.
• Evaluates Child Life Programming with the manager through meetings and rounds.
