40Summary:
The Child Life Specialist will serve patients at our Urgent Care Center (UCC) where they will provide essential life experiences, family support & education to patients and families. Child Life specialists offer assistance with coping, developmentally appropriate explanations of diagnoses and treatments, emotional support, and opportunities for distraction and play making their time at the urgent care center feel more normal. Child life Specialists work with the medical team to ensure each child's needs are addressed in the most nurturing atmosphere possible. Must have completed an internship in Child Life to be considered.
Hours: Sun - Weds 12 pm - 10:30 pm
Required Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's (or) Master's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a closely related field.
Requires Completion of an internship in child life.
Previous experience working as a Child Life Specialist preferred.
Certified Child Life Specialist (or eligible) within one year of hire.
American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS is required within 60 days of hire.
