Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a Child Life Specialist for a temporary maternity leave position in the inpatient surgical department. This role involves enhancing patients' psychosocial needs through therapeutic activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Child Development or similar fields and have completed a relevant internship.

This is a temporary maternity leave coverage position in the inpatient surgical infant/toddler department.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a related field with a concentration in child life. Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship under supervision of a certified child life specialist.
Experience: General skills in child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced-based knowledge for problem resolution.
Skills: Well-developed writing skills and excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution, to work effectively as part of a team.
Licensure/Certifications: Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire.
