Summary:

This Child Life Specialist will work to provide coverage to the Emergency Department and will be responsible for providing essential life experiences, family support, and education to patients and families in the healthcare system. The Child Life Specialist collaborates with other healthcare providers, as well as the community, to promote growth and development and facilitate positive adjustment for patients and families throughout the healthcare experience.

Required Education/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a closely related field.
  • Completion of a child life internship.
  • Previous experience working as a Child Life Specialist within the Emergency Department preferred.
  • Certified Child Life Specialist (or eligible) within one year of hire.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire.
