Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a Child Life Specialist to support the emotional, developmental and physical wellbeing of children in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Child Development, with CCLS preferred, and 0-1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Child Development required or Master's Degree Child Development preferred
• Licenses and Credentials: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) preferred
• Experience: related experience 0-1 year preferred
• Knowledge and abilities: strong analytical, problem solving and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Assess children's response to illness, hospitalization and/or treatment.
• Responds to child life orders in a timely manner.
• Implements and enforces hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Develop goals for a family service plan based on family, parent, and child assessed needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries with all parties at all times.
• Participates in the development of standards of performance with department leadership.
• Communicates plan of care with multidisciplinary team members as appropriate.
