Position Summary
The Child Life Specialist II delivers quality patient care utilizing basic clinical skills and knowledge for patients under the age of 21. He/she fosters clinical growth of other staff through educational efforts. Work involves inpatient and outpatient care, where hospital confinement and medical procedures can be threatening, leading to social withdrawal, maladaptive behavior, and other psychosocial issues in adolescents and families. The role involves utilizing appropriate developmental approaches while minimizing the negative aspects of hospitalization.
