The role requires a Bachelor's in child life or related field, a 600-hour internship or CLS readiness, and CCLS certification or eligibility.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in child life, child development, or related field is required.
• 600-hour child life internship or equivalent completed or in progress.
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or must complete certification within one year of employment.

Aufgaben

• Assess the needs of children and families to plan developmentally appropriate activities and cope with the hospital environment.
• Document assessments, observations, and recommendations in the medical record.
• Orient and supervise volunteers in providing ongoing play and development activities.
• Participate in marketing, public relations, and community-based activities related to children's health.
• Support research and implementation of evidence-based practices.
• Maintain educational and clinical expertise by reviewing materials, attending conferences/workshops, and networking with programs to stay current with trends.
• Exercise independent judgment in non-routine decisions under general supervision.
• Work directly with patients and customers, as well as with internal staff and other healthcare professionals.
