Job Summary:

SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Child Life Specialist-Level 2 to be part of Upstate's Pediatric Child Life Team working within the Upstate Pediatric Cancer Center.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families.

Assess children's developmental and coping needs.

Provide preparation, age appropriate diversion and motional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters.

Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Child Life or related field with a minimum of 2 years paid Child Life work experience.

Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required.

Excellent written/oral communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Child Life or related field preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, Days
