Job summary

Butterfly Effects is hiring Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians (RBT encouraged) in Providence, RI for part-time shifts (12–20 hours/week). You will implement ABA-based plans, record progress, manage challenging behaviors, and help children gain academic and life skills under supervision.

A driver’s license and a tablet/laptop are required. We value passionate individuals, offer growth toward BCBA paths with financial support, and provide a supportive team focused on calm, care, and joy

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • RBT certification if already obtained.
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with children is advantageous.
  • Interest in ongoing development.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle.
  • Tablet or Laptop for sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA.
  • Observes, records, and reports on client's progress daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
  • Assists clients to acquire academic and/or life skills.
  • Communicates professionally with parents, analysts, trainers, and clients.
  • Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in our online database.
  • Participates in continuous training programs to increase skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • Follows BE policies and procedures.

Child Interventionist, Behavior Technician or

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

8am-4pm or 3pm-7pm

We are seeking dedicated Child Interventionists/Behavior Technicians, both entry-level and experienced, to directly assist children with autism in honing vital skills like communication, social interaction, and self-care. What Do You Bring to the Role?
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Registered Behavior Technician Certification if already obtained.
  • Passion for Children: A genuine love for working with children.

  • Experience: Prior experience with children is advantageous.
  • Continuous Learning: Interest in ongoing development.
  • Transportation: Valid driver's license & personal vehicle.
  • Devices: Must have a Tablet or Laptop computer to use during sessions (not just a smart phone).
What Would You Be Doing?
  • Implements individualized treatment plans under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA).
  • Observes, records, and reports on client's progress, as well as the condition and behavior of the client daily.
  • Manages challenging behaviors.
  • Apply behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with clients.
  • Assists clients, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills.
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner with parents, behavior analysts/consultants, trainers, and clients.
  • Functions as an active member of the treatment team.
  • Completes daily paperwork and data collection notes in a detailed, accurate, consistent, and timely manner through our online database.
  • Actively participates in continuous training programs designed to increase overall skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information.
  • Follows BE policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in natural environments, occasionally requiring lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. and maintaining various postures for extended periods.
