Job summary

Canopy Children’s Solutions in Biloxi, MS seeks a Community Support Specialist to deliver community services for children and families, assess needs, connect families to education, medical, social, vocational, and recreational services, and track progress within ISP and CareLogic systems.

This full-time, on-site role supports the PMHC clinic, handles call-ins, assists with eligibility verification, schedules follow-ups, and coordinates transportation and crisis interventions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience working directly with children and families.
• Must meet the minimum requirements to be certified through the Mississippi Department of Mental Health as a Community Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Assists children and families to gain access to needed community support services including education, medical, social, vocational, recreational and other social services.
• Assess the strengths and service needs of the children and families and develop measurable, individualized interventions.
• Provide transportation for families as needed and coordinate services across home, school and community.
• Maintain up-to-date community support resource manual and document services in CareLogic as required.
