Job summary

Children’s Choice Preschool seeks a caring Preschool Teacher to join our team in San Diego County. You will deliver a research-based curriculum (Zoo-phonics; training provided) and foster a safe, engaging classroom that supports each child’s growth.

The ideal candidate has at least 12 ECE/Child Development units and CA Title 22 eligibility, with 1–2 years of preschool teaching experience and excellent communication with families and colleagues.

Qualifications

• 12 ECE/Child Development units meeting California Title 22 Teacher requirements.
• Students currently enrolled in ECE coursework and pursuing Title 22 eligibility encouraged to apply.
• Experience in preschool teaching preferred (1–2 years).
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Instruct preschool-aged children using the company curriculum (Zoo-phonics; training provided).
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Attend monthly trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.

Children's Choice Learning Centers is a well-established preschool organization with locations throughout San Diego County. We are seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced Preschool Teacher to join our team. Our teachers play a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while supporting each child's developmental growth. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, has excellent communication skills, and is comfortable building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. This position reports directly to the Center Director or Assistant Director.

Responsibilities:

• Instruct preschool-aged children using the company-selected curriculum (Zoo-phonics; training provided).
• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom activities.
• Attend 1-3 monthly trainings and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Follow all licensing regulations and company policies.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and address concerns professionally and compassionately.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Coach and guide assistant teachers with clear expectations and support.
• Complete DRDP assessments and maintain required documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 Early Childhood Education/Child Development units meeting California Title 22 Teacher requirements.
• Students currently enrolled in Early Childhood Education coursework and actively working toward completing California Title 22 Teacher requirements are encouraged to apply.
• Coursework should include:
  • Early Child Growth and Development
  • Child, Family & Community
  • Infant & Toddler
  • additional Child Development course (such as Program & Curriculum or Child Health & Safety).
• At least 1- 2 years of preschool teaching experience preferred.
• Passionate about working with children and fostering their growth and development.
• Positive, patient, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Comfortable learning software applications and adapting to change.
• Experience with DRDP is a plus.
• Candidates with out-of-state coursework are encouraged to apply; transcripts will be reviewed for California Title 22 eligibility.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Able to work occasional overtime as needed and attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Classroom environments may include animals or classroom pets.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
