Job summary

Children's Choice Academy in Woodside, CA, is seeking an experienced, compassionate Infant Teacher to join our team and implement age-appropriate curriculum in a safe, nurturing classroom. You will collaborate with the lead and assistant teachers to support infants and toddlers in their growth and development.

The ideal candidate meets California Title 22 Infant Teacher requirements, holds 12 ECE units, and possesses current Mandated Reporter, DSS clearance, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• 12 ECE units including Infant & Toddler and one additional Child Development course.
• Must meet California Title 22 requirements for Infant Teachers.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience as Preschool/Infant/Toddler Educator.
• Pass DSS background clearance; Mandated Reporter Certification; Pediatric CPR and First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Early Childhood Educator by implementing the company-selected curriculum (Zoo-phonics training provided).
• Develop and implement engaging weekly lesson plans aligned with classroom themes and developmental goals.
• Create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive learning environment for infants and toddlers.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and inventory according to company standards and licensing requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all Community Care Licensing regulations and company policies.
• Communicate regularly with parents through the ProCare app regarding children's progress, daily activities, and developmental milestones.
• Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
• Coach, guide, and support assistant teachers through clear communication and leadership.
• Ensure active supervision and safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.

Position Summary

This position reports directly to the Center Director or Assistant Director.

• Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including:

  • Child, Family & Community
  • Infant & Toddler Course
  • One additional Child Development course (such as Program & Curriculum, Child Health & Safety, etc.)
• Must meet California Title 22 requirements for Infant Teachers.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Preschool Teacher, Infant/Toddler Teacher, or Early Childhood Educator.
• Ability to pass DSS background clearance.
• Current Mandated Reporter Certification.
• Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Comfortable learning new technology and software applications.
• Adaptable and willing to work as part of a team-focused environment.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
• Availability to attend occasional staff meetings and work overtime when needed.
