Job summary

Eliada Homes is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to clean and sanitize its child development facilities in North Carolina. The role requires maintaining cleanliness across classrooms and buildings, and working autonomously to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of cleaning experience (preferably in child development), and a valid NC driver’s license. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is also required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid NC driver license is required.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes Eliada’s child development program buildings regularly.
• Sweeps, mops, dusts, vacuums and ensures areas are ready for operations.
• Maintains a daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule and works autonomously.
• Enters work orders to ensure repairs are completed.
• Assists staff with other projects as needed.

Description

The Housekeeper will be responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of Eliada’s child development facilities.

Major Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes Eliada’s child development program buildings regularly.
• Responsible for sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and other methods of cleaning. Ensures that all areas are in proper order for operations to continue.
• Maintains a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule of cleaning tasks. Works autonomously to ensure that the program and classroom cleanliness is maintained.
• Enters work orders as needed to ensure that repairs are completed.
• Assists child development departments staff with other projects as needed.

Other Responsibilities

• Ensure the provision of quality services to clients through participation in the agency’s CQI process.
• Display competence & responsiveness to cultural differences present in both customer & employee populations.
• Maintain and service all equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Three years of experience are highly preferred. Experience with cleaning and/or sanitation in a child development setting preferred. Possession of a valid NC driver license is required.

Skills/physical/working conditions: Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by Eliada's insurance carriers. Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for up to 8 hours indoor and outdoor with varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Education: High School Diploma/GED required.

Salary Description

$15-$18 an hour
