Job summary

The El Dorado County Office of Education seeks a part-time Child Development Classroom Assistant II to support child readiness in a dynamic environment. Under the direction of a Head Start teacher, candidates will apply child development knowledge to facilitate engaging activities. Ideal applicants will possess an Associate Teacher Permit and experience in Early Care and Education, with bilingual skills strongly encouraged.

The El Dorado County Office of Education accepts applications for Classroom Assistant II with our Child Development Program on a year round basis, with no application deadline. This posting will be used to create an eligibility list. This list will be used for current and future openings. Purpose Statement: Under the direction of the Head Start teacher, demonstrates and applies fundamental knowledge of child development to facilitate daily activities and experiences for children that support school readiness following federal, state and COE guidelines. Bilingual/Spanish-English speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. Bilingual stipend available upon completion/passing of proficiency exam.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma and Associate Teacher Permit or Associate of Arts degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field. Must meet Title 22 licensing standards. Experience: Previous successful experience in Early Care and Education Programs within the last three years preferred. Bilingual/Spanish English speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. A copy of your transcript must be submitted with the application for verification of ECE units.
