KinderCare in Decatur, IL is seeking a dedicated kitchen associate to maintain safe, hygienic food prep for young children and to support daily center operations.

You will order food, manage supplies, and assist with documentation to meet licensing requirements, while working closely with teachers and leadership to support enrollment and engagement.

If you have a passion for early childhood nutrition, basic math, and a Food Handler license, this role offers a stable, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference daily.
• Familiarity with proper food storage and allergy needs; avoid cross-contamination.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare adequate portions.
• Basic math skills for measuring and serving portions.
• Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• One year of institutional cooking; food ordering experience is a plus.
• Two+ years working with children is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically
• Order food and supplies
• Dispense and store medication, as requested
• Complete timely and accurate documentation according to KinderCare and other licensing or regulation requirements
• Help with and take on responsibility in other daily center duties, as needed
• Support your center’s success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
