Summary:

Center for Family Services is seeking a friendly and compassionate part-time Childcare Worker for our program Baby's Best Start. Baby's Best Start is a nine-week program that works together with parents and family members to ensure babies get off to the best possible start. Program sessions are on Saturday from 10am to 3pm. After the completion of the program, staff will assist the Program Coordinator with follow-up calls once the program ends.

Location: East Orange, NJ

Job Status: Part Time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision of children while parents are in the group session
• Leading educational activities including reading, arts and crafts, and safe age-appropriate games with the children
• Assisting with meal preparation during the parenting session
• Clean-up and sanitizing of the play space at the end of the session
• Provide updates to the Family Support Worker after each session
• Meet weekly with the Program Coordinator for support

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of experience working with families, newborn babies, and children of different ages.
• Current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
• Vehicle with current insurance and registration
