The State of Michigan seeks a Child Care Worker responsible for direct care services to children and adolescents. This role involves maintaining a therapeutic environment and implementing treatment plans, requiring strong educational backgrounds in human services and related fields.
The preferred and appointed candidate will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and/or alcohol testing.
Education
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits), including 15 semester (22 term) credits in human service areas such as psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, special education, audiology, speech pathology, recreation therapy, music therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, child care, child development counseling and guidance, human services, family relations, behavioral science, or related fields.
Experience
Child Care Worker 8: No specific experience required.
Child Care Worker E9: One year of experience as a Child Care Worker 8 and completion of the Department of Health and Human Services' approved training program.
Alternate Education and Experience:
Three years of experience as a Youth Specialist may substitute for the education and experience requirements.
