CHILDCARE TEACHER- PRESCHOOL
JOB DESCRIPTION:Under the direction of the Child Care Site Director, the child care teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a program for social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of children preschool aged children 3-5 years old. A Child Care Teacher is responsible for the daily provision of activities and routine for a group of children in the child care program. He/she leads the child care room staff in providing daily age appropriate activities and overseeing the safety and overall quality of the classroom environment.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field and one (1) year experience related to caring for preschool aged children 3-5 years old.
OR
Preschool Child Care and Education credential; or Preschool Child Development Associate Credential; or other OCFS office-recognized credential specific to the toddler developmental period AND two (2) years of experience related to caring for children
OR
Child Development Associate Credential AND two (2) years of experience caring for children, one (1) of which must be related to caring for preschool aged children 3-5 years old.
OR
Nine (9) college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, with a plan of study leading to:
