Job summary

Lifesteps, Inc. in Beaver, PA is hiring a Full-Time Child Care Staff to work with preschool-aged children at our daycare.

The Teacher Aide works Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, caring for children 3–5, assisting with lesson planning, keeping the room and toys organized, and communicating about each day to families.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of childcare experience.
• Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Clearances required: PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Dept of Human Services.
• Able to multitask and work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Care and supervision of children ages 3 to 5.
• Assist with lesson planning and create engaging activities.
• Inform parents about the child's day.
• Keep the room, toys, and equipment clean and organized.
• Participate in quality initiatives such as Keystone Stars.

Lifesteps is immediately hiring a Full-Time Child Care Staff to work with Preschool aged children in the Daycare in Beaver, PA.

Lifesteps is a local, human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by “helping individuals and families with life's changing needs”. The Agency provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

The Teacher Aide position (also known as Child Care Assistant or Assistant Group Supervisor) will work Monday through Friday, daylight hours, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Job duties can include:

• the care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
• assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
• inform parents about the child's day
• Clean and organize the room /toys / equipment
• Participate in quality initiatives, such as Keystone Stars, for enhanced programming

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED AND 2 years of experience caring for children (can be paid or unpaid care of children, such as church nursery, summer camp, child care staff, etc. but must be the care of other people’s children)
• Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Ability to provide acceptable PA Criminal clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Dept of Human Services clearance
• Able to multi-task and work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks
• Possess strong communications skills (verbal and written); able to communicate information to a diverse audience

Preferred:

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Criminology, Speech Pathology, Music Therapy, Women's Studies, CDA or any related major
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or any related Human Services field
