Lifesteps is immediately hiring a Full-Time Child Care Staff to work with Preschool aged children in the Daycare in Beaver, PA.

Lifesteps is a local, human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by “helping individuals and families with life's changing needs”. The Agency provides programs and services to help children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

The Teacher Aide position (also known as Child Care Assistant or Assistant Group Supervisor) will work Monday through Friday, daylight hours, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities

The care and supervision of children, ages 3 years to 5 years old
Assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
Inform parents about the child's day
Clean and organize the room, toys, and equipment
Participate in quality initiatives, such as Keystone Stars, for enhanced programming

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED AND 2 years of experience caring for children (paid or unpaid), such as church nursery, summer camp, child care staff, etc. but must be the care of other people's children
Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds without assistance
Ability to provide acceptable PA Criminal clearance, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Dept. of Human Services clearance
Able to multi-task and work in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to complete basic computer tasks
Possess strong communications skills (verbal and written); able to communicate information to a diverse audience

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Criminology, Speech Pathology, Music Therapy, Women's Studies, CDA or any related major
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or any related Human Services field
