Job summary

Community Horizons is seeking a dedicated Child Care Worker to support two school-aged children on the autism spectrum in their Appleton, WI home after school, roughly 3:40pm to 6 or 7pm, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on safety, structure, and gentle engagement while following parents’ rules about electronics and routines.

Responsibilities include helping children get off the bus, supervising for safety, guiding activities like snack time and sensory play, and ensuring background

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children on the spectrum is a plus.
• Kind, patient and understanding demeanor is essential.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
• Must be able to pass a caregiver background check.

Responsibilities

• Get children off bus daily and transport to their home.
• Supervise children to ensure safety; monitor elopement risk.
• Enforce family rules; no electronics unless allowed.
• Assist with snack time, sensory play, and toileting reminders.
• Perform other light child-care tasks as requested by parents.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Worker specializing in supporting children with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. In this vital role, you will be the extra support that this family needs with their 2 children who are on the spectrum. Care is needed in the childrens home.

Hours- Afterschool, roughly 3:40pm to 6 or 7pm, M-F

Direct hire. No Agency!!

Responsibilities

• Get children off bus daily, transport to thier home
• Supervise children to ensure safety- elopement risk.
• Ensure that children are following rules set by parents- no electronics
• Help with things like snack time, sensory play, toileting reminders
• Other minor child care tasks as requested by parents

Qualifications-

• Previous experieince working with chilren on the spectrum a plus
• Must be kind, patient and understanding
• Valid drivers license and vehicle
• Must be able to pass a caregiver background check
