Job summary

Stevens Point Area YMCA is seeking a Lead Teacher to create a safe, engaging classroom that fosters learning and growth. You will plan curriculum, support emotional and social development, and build strong family relationships in a nurturing setting.

Requirements include DCF 251 qualifications, prior licensed child care experience, and CPR certification within 60 days. The role offers flexible hours with full-time and part-time options and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must meet DCF 251 qualifications for a Child Care Teacher.
• Experience in licensed child care as Lead or Assistant Teacher.
• Creative, flexible, energetic, and patient.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to engage with children at their level and respond to their individual needs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and actively participate in classroom activities.
• Must complete a physician-signed health examination and fingerprint-based background check before beginning work.
• CPR certification within 60 days of hire (we offer certification classes that are FREE for staff)
