Job summary

La Petite Academy in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a dedicated Food Specialist to manage overall food preparation for the school’s enrolled children. You will adapt menus to the school plan and budget while meeting state and federal requirements.

In this role, you’ll create home-style meals, follow the daily menu, ensure health and safety, maintain inventory, and assist in classrooms as needed. This position emphasizes care, growth, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking and/or preparing food for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meals within the school's menu and budget, and prepare meals and snacks for children and staff.
• Follow daily menu and comply with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
