Job summary

Learning Care is seeking a dedicated Food Specialist to prepare home-style, nutritious meals for our enrolled children, within menu boundaries and budget. You’ll follow USDA, licensing, and health department regulations and support the school’s daily meal and snack schedules.

Responsibilities include planning meals, maintaining inventory, and assisting teachers in classrooms as needed. This role emphasizes reliability, teamwork, and a genuine passion for child nutrition and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritious meals and snacks for children and staff within menu and budget.
• Follow daily menu provisions and health department regulations (USDA/licensing).
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and reorder as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
