Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking a Cook to plan and prepare nutritious, family‑style meals that support children’s health, growth, and learning in a preschool setting. You will contribute to a warm, predictable routine for children and staff while ensuring safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Responsibilities include planning meals, maintaining sanitation, and managing inventory with approved vendors. State background checks and certifications are required or pursued as described.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED.
• Food handler certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Nutrition coursework or certification is preferred.
• Food service experience in childcare, school cafeteria, or high-volume setting is preferred.
• ServSafe preferred; will be required upon hire.
• Florida Care Provider Clearinghouse Background Screening as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare balanced, family-style meals and snacks following approved menus and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen following sanitation and health procedures.
• Manage food and supply inventory and place orders through approved vendors.
