Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide needs evaluation and assessment to determine eligibility for childcare financial assistance, and to supply information and referrals for other needed or requested services.
Essential Functions
- Operate on a hybrid schedule, requiring at least three days per week onsite at CCRI. Adherence to this schedule is essential for effective collaboration and execution of duties.
- Serve as agency intake/case management staff, determining the appropriateness of requests for financial assistance with child care services.
- Provide information on child care options and assist clients in arranging placement in the program of their choice.
- Educate and assist families in addressing child care issues.
- Provide families with consumer information and resources to achieve self-sufficiency, such as tax information, community resources, and housing.
- Hold delegated authority for certification of child care services, placement, voucher issuance, and case closure, ensuring accuracy to prevent errors affecting revenue, audits, and client needs.
- Use own transportation to visit centers, family child care homes, and unregulated providers periodically.
- Hold conferences with center directors, teachers, and parents as needed.
- Perform other duties to support the agency's mission and goals.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Social Work or a related field, or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
- No prior experience required.
- Ability to read paystubs and calculate income.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of child development, eligibility regulations, and licensing regulations.
- Good judgment in policy interpretation.
- Ability to tolerate diverse lifestyles and develop effective relationships.
- Good rapport with parents, providers, and staff; ability to work under stress and deadlines.
- Adaptability to policy changes and good computer skills.
