Job description

Summary

The Child Care & Learning Center is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher for the Infant Program. The ideal candidate for this position will have:


  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Two or more years leading an infant child care classroom
  • Experience with lesson planning, scheduling, and assessment
  • A professional work ethic
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Duties

Primary duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Directing all classroom activities, including the production of daily notes, child schedules, work schedules, and parent communications.
  • Creating and leading activities based on the Creative Curriculum
  • Supporting play and nature-based learning activities
  • Supervising and acting as a role model to infant room staff
  • Participating in training and educational opportunities to expand child development knowledge
  • Overseeing adherence to child care licensing standards and CCLC policies

Requirements

At a minimum, all candidates must possess the following qualifications:


  • CDA or Career Studies certificate, Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • 2 years of successful work experience in a child care classroom
  • 3 references, one of which must be from a current employer
  • A strong desire to work with infants
  • An understanding of all applicable child care licensing standards
  • Must work full time, 35+ hours per week
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds.

CCLC is a non-smoking campus, and preference will be given to non-smoking candidates. CCLC requires an annual flu shot for all employees and up-to-date TDAP immunization for this classroom.


Candidates are required to pass criminal background checks, 10 hours of preservice training, and a 3-hour orientation.
