Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Newtown, CT is seeking an experienced Center Director to lead our childcare center. You will recruit and develop staff, enforce policies, ensure licensing compliance, and maintain high-quality care for children and families.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field and 5+ years of leadership in child care, with strong communication and organizational skills. Competitive benefits and a supportive team await.

• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
• Must meet state criteria and NAEYC standards for Center Director.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall operation of the center including recruitment and staff development.
• Manage policies, procedures, child safety, hygiene, and licensing.
• Ensure staff understand objectives within each classroom.
• Handle payroll, accounts payable/receivable and general communications.
• Enforce state regulations within the building.
• Implement and ensure training for all staff members.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child.

What will you be doing?

• Managing the overall operation of the center including recruitment and development of staff, management of policies and procedures, child safety, environmental health/hygiene, and state licensing.
• Ensuring that all staff members understand the objectives and expectations within each classroom.
• Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications .
• Understanding and enforcing all state regulations within the building.
• Implementing and ensuring completion of training for all staff members.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
