Child Care Associate (Ages 6 weeks – 2 years)
- Previous experience working with children.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills with the public.
- First‑Aid / CPR certified.
- Acceptable criminal records check.
- Essential Function: Ability to lift 35 lbs.; works flexible hours; regular attendance.
Position Goal: To provide a safe, nurturing, and well‑organized day‑care environment with developmentally appropriate activities in which children can learn and grow.
- Attendance is necessary to be successful in this position.
- Maintain open communication with parents at the beginning and end of the day.
- Assist with the feedings of children (bottle, jar food).
- Attend to the diapering needs of children.
- Engage in positive and age‑appropriate social interactions.
- Encourage playing and sharing harmoniously with other children.
- Maintain proper child discipline in accordance with the Kids Place discipline policy.
- Maintain daily infant or toddler report.
- Assist in maintaining orderly room.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Keep information related to individual children and families confidential.
- Know how many children are with them at all times (outside, fire/tornado drills).
- Direct movement of children from place to place.
- Document information about children for staff on the next shift.
- Be knowledgeable of the emergency file and emergency procedures.
- Know the tornado and fire procedures for the program and assist in the supervision of required drills.
- Be punctual in room and on the job prior to the start of the shift; notify the Coordinator and/or OnSite Supervisor if you are to be late or absent.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment: Wage schedules shall be subject to annual review and modification by the Glenwood Board of Education or through the collective bargaining process, where one exists.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Classified Staff Evaluation.
Child Care Associate (Ages 2 – 4)
- Previous experience working with children.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good communication skills with the public.
- First‑Aid / CPR certified.
- Acceptable criminal records check.
- Essential Function: Ability to lift 35–45 lbs.; works flexible hours; regular attendance.
Position Goal: To provide a safe, nurturing, and well‑organized day‑care environment with developmentally appropriate activities in which children can learn and grow.
- Attendance is necessary to be successful in this position.
- Maintain open communication with parents at the beginning and end of the day.
- Foster good eating habits and table manners through family‑style meals.
- Assist children with diapering/toileting and hand washing as needed.
- Engage in positive and age‑appropriate social interactions.
- Encourage playing and sharing harmoniously with other children.
- Maintain daily care report.
- Assist in maintaining orderly room.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Keep information related to individual children and families confidential.
- Know how many children are with them at all times (outside, fire/tornado drills).
- Direct movement of children from place to place.
- Document information about children for staff on the next shift.
- Supervise as well as interact with children on the playground, indoor gym, and classroom.
- Maintain proper child discipline in accordance with Kids Place discipline policy.
- Assume responsibility for play equipment.
- Organize group games and activities.
- Be knowledgeable of the emergency file and emergency procedures.
- Know the tornado and fire procedures for the program and assist in the supervision of required drills.
- Be punctual in room and on the job prior to the start of the shift; notify the Coordinator and/or OnSite Supervisor if you are to be late or absent.
