Lifesteps is immediately hiring Full-Time or Part-time Child Care Assistants for the Butler Early Education center. Lifesteps is a local non-profit, human service organization providing programs and services to support children of all abilities with their early care and education needs.

Child Care Assistants (also known as Assistant Group Supervisors or Teacher Aides) work Monday through Friday, during daylight hours, in the daycare and preschool center. No evenings, no weekends!

Job Duties Include:
  • The care and supervision of children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
  • Assisting with lesson planning and creating engaging activities
  • Supervising indoor and outdoor playtime
  • Teaching children subjects like colors and letters, and basic concepts such as sharing
  • Nurturing infants and playing with toddlers
  • Informing parents about the child's day

Qualifications
Required:
  • High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children (paid or unpaid, e.g., summer camps, church nursery, babysitting, volunteering, etc.)
  • Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to obtain acceptable state clearances
  • Able to multitask and work in a team environment
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related fields
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Art/Dance Therapy, Music Therapy, Family Studies, or related Human Services fields
