Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks to fill a role in its Child Care Center to support children's development across social, emotional, physical and intellectual domains. The caregiver will create nurturing environments and provide experiences that promote growth, confidence, and well-being through positive interactions with children and adults.

Responsibilities include supporting development, coordinating activities that challenge children, and maintaining a safe setting.

Qualifications

• Required: DCF Introductory 40-hour Child Care Training (Part I and II) and 5-hour Early Literacy and Language Development training, or within 90 days of hire.
• Required: current Level 2 ACHA background clearance.

Job Summary

Provides care for children in assigned groups stressing individual needs within the developmental framework of social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. Assists in creating an environment and providing experiences which are conducive to a child’s continuing growth in these areas. Provides assistance in developing feelings of confidence and well-being by having opportunities for successful encounters with adults, peers and their physical environment. Activities are provided to challenge the child within the context of his or her appropriate developmental level.

Required Qualifications

• Require DCF Introductory forty (40)-clock-hour Child Care Training comprised of Part I and Part II courses and five (5)-clock-hour (or .5 Continuing Education Units) Early Literacy and Language Development, or within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Require a current Level 2 ACHA background clearance.

• Prefer one (1) to four (4) years of experience working with children in a classroom setting,
