UW Medical Center - Children's Center at Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a Childcare Assistant Teacher.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, Day Shift.

Department Description

The UW Medical Center Children's Center at Northwest offers year-round care to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and is operated by UW Medical Center. The center is a community of families and teachers who strive to provide a safe and respectful environment where children and families are loved and cared for. Children have the opportunity for creativity and growth, mastering skills of resiliency, self-regulation, and intrinsic motivation. Embracing the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the center focuses on a child's natural development and is child-centered, encouraging students to follow their own educational path.

Job Responsibilities

1. Support the childcare and learning activities in the UWMC Children's Center at Northwest.
2. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and cleanup.
3. Assist with diaper changing and toilet training.
4. Provide teaching assistance in a classroom environment.
5. Keep the classroom safe and clean, including operating washing machines and dishwashers.
6. Create an organized environment with daily cleaning.
7. Maintain daily written progress records on individual children.
8. Assist childcare teacher with curriculum planning.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate, or equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
