Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Wallingford is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and families. You will help create a warm, safe home-like environment for children from 6 weeks to 12 years, following NAEYC guidelines and BrightPath policies.

Paid training provided; no evenings or weekends. Full-time schedule 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Competitive benefits include a 60% childcare discount, health, dental, and life insurance, and 2 weeks of PTO in the first year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks – 12 years.
• Assisting teachers with instruction in the classroom.
• Decorating inside and outside of classrooms as needed.
• Maintaining a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Interacting with children to encourage their involvement in activities.
• Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.

What will you be doing?

As a Teacher Assistant, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care, according to NAEYC guidelines.
