Job summary

Carroll Community College is seeking a part-time student employee to assist at the Littlest Learners Child Development Center. The position pays $15.00 per hour and requires a high school diploma, reliability, and a willingness to promote developmentally appropriate practice through nature-based activities and play.

Responsibilities include promoting center philosophy, assisting with attention, snack distribution and safety, leading play, following MSDE OCC guidelines, and participating in staff

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Goal oriented, responsible and consistent.
• Willingness to learn and promote DAP through nature-based activities, arts-based learning and play.
• Works as a collaborative team member with Center staff, college faculty and parents.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and assist for center benefit.
• Flexibility to grow and learn as a teacher.
• Criminal background check successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Promote philosophy of Littlest Learners Child Development Center.
• Assist and direct attention as needed.
• Help with distribution of snacks and safety practices to the restrooms.
• Facilitate play and oversee small group learning.
• Adhere to MSDE OCC Licensing safety procedures.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings when possible.
• Perform other duties including housekeeping, food prep, cleanup, nap assistance and teacher preparation.
