Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Child Care Aide at Fishers YMCA to provide safe, nurturing care in the Child Watch area. You will support children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth while modeling the organization’s Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility values.

Responsibilities include supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, and maintaining open communication with parents to build trust and ensure a positive experience for every child.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old and understand children’s development.
• Ability to lead age-appropriate activities (crafts, games, etc.).
• Knowledge of age-appropriate behavior management per YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain current certifications in First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety & Risk Management, and New Employee Orientation within 60–90 days of employment.
• Warm, friendly personality and willingness to interact and play with children.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in Child Watch, ensuring a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment.
• Foster children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth.
• Interact with parents to develop a trusting relationship and communicate effectively.
