Job summary

The State of South Carolina’s SC Department of Children’s Advocacy seeks a dedicated Case Worker to support Guardian ad Litem cases. Responsibilities include case management, court preparation and advocacy for abused/neglected children, with a focus on compliance with laws and program policies.

Travel and evenings/weekends may be required, plus driving duties. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may be considered.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for enhanced qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform casework, court preparation and attendance for cases with no volunteer Guardian ad Litem.
• Provide day-to-day case management, court prep, supervision and volunteer support; follow laws and program policies.
• Advocate for victims of abuse/neglect within the circuit; maintain case files and data in the database.
• Establish relationships with Department of Social Services, Family Court and child-serving agencies.
• Assist coordinator in supervising and training volunteers and recruitment as caseload changes.
• Complete any special assignments from supervisor.
