Northwell Health is expanding its Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health services in Westchester, seeking Board Certified/Eligible Psychiatrists to lead new initiatives focused on improving mental health access for children. The role offers competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and an opportunity to contribute to an essential community service.
Northwell Health's Department of Behavioral Health is seeking Board Certified/Board Eligible Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our Behavioral Health team in Westchester. We are recruiting for two highly motivated practitioners to lead our Child & Adolescent Ambulatory Practice and our School Mental Health Partnership's Behavioral Health Center.
This is a unique opportunity as Northwell Health is launching a new comprehensive behavioral health program to expand access to care for children and adolescents in Northern Westchester, an area with limited mental health resources. The program will include partnerships with local schools and community organizations, a new behavioral health center for short-term and crisis care, a psychiatric outpatient practice, patient navigation, family support, and eventually, intensive outpatient services.
Northwell has a similar program in Long Island that has helped reduce emergency room referrals by partnering with schools by an average of 60%. By summer 2025, a stand-alone facility will open in Mount Kisco, supported by Northern Westchester Hospital and the Northwell School Mental Health Partnership program. In the coming years, intensive outpatient programming will be introduced to support young people needing higher levels of care.
Additionally, Northwell has committed to investing $500 million over the next several years to expand pediatric and adolescent behavioral health services, including constructing the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Pavilion connected to Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Zucker Hillside Hospital, our academic behavioral health facility. Join our expanding network and contribute to our mission of increasing mental health access and care for kids and families!
